Well, after a spur-of-the-moment 3.5 mile run with Sara yesterday (we were supposed to be walking) and an hour long strength session with Trainer Jen this morning, I guess I’ve recovered from Disney’s Princess Weekend. Victoria and I participated in the Glass Slipper Challenge- running the 10k on Saturday and the half-marathon on Sunday. It was a weekend filled with girl time, running and not nearly enough sleep, and concluded with the award of three gorgeous medals. (Victoria’s weekend also included some vacation time! She’ll fill you in on that soon.)
Let’s back up a bit though- to Thursday afternoon (for Vic) and Friday morning (for me), when we visited the race expo.
Disney doesn’t do small- even the expo is a Major Event. Tons of shopping, seminars, and even a beer cart! It’s very well organized, and also has some of that Disney magic we all know and love.
Here are some expo moments we captured-
Favorite booth from the Princess Expo? I bought a few new Sweaty Bands and a six pack of cupcakes from the Yum Yum truck. Victoria got the very last Glass Slipper Challenge Sweaty Band.
It excites me to know they have cupcakes for purchase! Best post race breakfast ever!

They had cupcakes at the expo? Well, I’m officially mad that I missed it haha. Also, sweaty bands are the best ever – good choice of purchase! 😉
I was like a kid in a candy store! They had everything you need for a race (well, we never found Amphipods in town) for an everyday run or to show off your accomplishment. SpiBelts, Yurbuds, Sweaty bands (which never fell off during 13.1 miles, wahoo!) Thank goodness we had to get back to preschool carline! I could have shopped all day. Sarah Bowen Shea was so down to earth, it was like trying on clothes with a girlfriend! “Get the small size! If I had boobs like yours…..” lol! BTW the “It’s all good, I ran today” shirt is sooo comfortable and I’ll remind myself that often when I’m at home with 3 kids this summer! Note: you don’t have to be a race participant to attend the expo. When’s the next Run Disney race?
Rawthreads booth. I got 2 shirts this year! I thought the expo was GREAT, I went later and well, the crowds were not too bad at all.
Fantastic! Those Raw Threads shirts are quite comfy, aren’t they? Which two did you get?
I love the sweaty band I got too and we also got some cupcakes from the yum yum truck! SO good!
Oh! Which Sweaty Band did you get? I’m slightly obsessed with those! But considering one headband was all I purchased at the expo, I’m pretty proud of myself!
What else did you get?
What booth didn’t I love would be a better question. 🙂 Outside of the Minnie shoes, I probably spent the most at Sparkle Athletic this time. I’m sad that I missed a cupcake truck. That’s almost unheard of for me.
Congrats on the Minnie shoes! they really are adorable. What all did you get at the sparkle athletic booth? Their gear is great!
a new dark green skirt, the pink/yellow/leopard looking one and the gun metal visor. Probably could have done more damage had I stayed longer. 😉
It’s easy to do! I am all over the gunmetal these days! I wore my skirt for Tink and *just* got the visor 🙂 Love!
